Google Reader goes mobile

By jake61

Google Reader has gone mobile and (because of this) should work on our E61s. I haven’t tried it out yet but will soon, it should work because GMail and Google work on my E61… Google Reader is a RSS Reader and now it works on cellphones with data (or Wifi). It’s similar to WidSets, however it looks different/is different in some ways.

It’s in XHTML (like Skweezer  and others) so I was able to take a screenshot on my computer

The E61/E62 sould have a cuilt in rss manager. Simply go to the webpage you want to subscribe to and hit >Options >Subscirbe the rss link will automaticcally be added to a section under book marks called Webfeeds

I agree with you Chanse, they (I guess) forgot this from the first version of the Browser. It will be on second, which will be on feature pack 1, so it might end up that E61 wont get this feature.
But I like WidSets and GReader…

    Chanse, Jake,
The E61 does have a built in RSS reader. For me personally, though, it’s almost useless as some of my favourite blogs are in Atom format, which the built in reader can’t cope with.

The Google Reader Blog announced that you can now use Google’s RSS reader, Google Reader, on your mobile device. To access your RSS subscriptions at Google Reader on your E-61, go to http://www.google.com/reader/m.

Jeurg you are correct that the E61 has original RSS reader (in Web) but it is not very effective. The headers are too large and you can’t have access when offline (well, Google doesn’t either but at least the font is better).
I use Google Reader and WidSets because the original RSS isn’t good enough.

    Thanks for commenting!!
