I’m a power user of PIM apps on my Nokia E61. I admit that the original apps aren’t too good, Calendar is a bit clumsy, Notes and To-do don’t have categories, Alarm clock only can have one alarm (on my Nokia 7710 you could have like ten, and repeated ones too) and on and on…
But now there has been lots of fuss about Papyrus and AquaCalendar, Calendar apps for S60 3rd Edition phones. (Similar to Calcium which is a better calculator). They have been in beta for some time already and now finally AquaCalendar has released a stable version! Papyrus is coming soon as well! If you want a side-by-side review see Techmundo.
I love this!

I find both applications interesting but Papyrus looks ten times better. To bad it lacks a lot of the functions AC have.

Looks great, and the E61’s native calendar defo needs improvement. But do either of these maintain MS Exchange sync compatability?

hey, grayskull! I think I understand what you are looking for: You want sync between the Calendar and MS Outlook (from where you can sync with MS Exchange) if that’s the case then just use the Nokia PC Suite Sync software. Or read nokme.com (article: Sync your Google Calendars with Outlook Calendar & then to E61) where there is a wireless option to this
Write back if this worked/didn’t work!

Hi Jake, no not quite. I sync my phone with a hosted MS Exchange account via my phone’s GPRS/3G data account only. I used the Nokia PC Suit sync software when I first got the phone, but now only sync via the GPRS acct. I’ll go take a look @ that website you mentioned to see if it covers anything like this, plus will check out the Papyrus & Aquacalendar sites FAQ’s to see if they cover it.
cheers,
keep up the great work.

grayskull, can you detail your Exchange server setup for us?
I’m looking to move to either an E61 or HTC TyTn and want to avoid local sync with Outlook. I have a free Exchange server here:
http://live.mail2web.com/
But they only support Windows mobile
