Flash Lite Exchange – More “Engaging Experiences”

While I’ve been reading all the cool blogs (these link to some of them) I haven’t seen anything on any blog about Flash Lite which comes standard on the Nokia E61. I have some experience with Flash so I went online and found the Flash Lite Exchange, and tested some of the apps on my E61. All of them worked very well so I decided to write a post about the topic. As a sidenote, Nokia E61 (Nokia Europe’s E61 Site) has Flash Lite version 1.1. Flash is a very engaging experience as you can see from sites like WayFinder Earth’s Website  and now S60 phones are able to engage with Flash (Lite). You might be asking What is Flash Lite? Flash Lite is the Flash technology specifically developed for mobile phones… Just check this out

And there is a Ton of apps to be found for the E61 at the Flash Lite Exchange  it is well worth visiting: all of the Symbian 60 files are for S60 3rd Edition so ALL of the apps work on E61 (write in comments if one doesn’t). I’ve tried FloogleSMS and WhackAttack and they worked on my E61.

Yeah so if 200 apps isn’t enough for you then get some more   :)

    hmm… not sure if I read you correctly, but no flash items, neither form the Nokia E61 link or from Wayfinder Earth, are displayed on my E61 with new firmware?
    Any ideas? Thks & best regards, Alex

    Alex, what I meant is that WayFinderEarth.com is made in Flash. I guess I wrote it in a manner that made you think that the Nokia E61 Page to use Flash Lite 1.1 and work on E61 but I actually meant the phone has Flash Lite 1.1, with just a link to the Nokia’s page of E61. Flash Doesn’t work on E61, only Flash Lite does. So things that you get from Flash Lite Exchange work on E61 but Flash things (sites like wayfinderearth.com etc) won’t work with maybe some exceptions to this.

    HI having trouble to down loaded the apps via my PC to E61. What are the steps to make it work properly.

    It’s (not that) simple:
    1. Go to Flash Lite Exchange (see the article for link) you will need to signup :/ (I didn’t include this in the article because for me it’s a given, I already had a login before getting my E61)
    2. Choose what you want to get
    3. Sign in (or make an account)
    4. Download onto PC
    5. Transfer to E61 – I suggest putting it in a new folder called Flash Lite (I use PC Suite)
    6. On E61 open Flash Player OR
    go to File Mgr. and find the Flash file
    OR Go to Media>Gallery>Video Clips and access from there (easiest)
